Happening in May!

The Role of County Government

Tuesday, May 26, 7:00 pm

Utah Valley University Keller Building

Did you know that just three County Commissioners make decisions that affect 750,000 citizens in Utah County? They have power over issues such as public health and safety, elections, preservation of natural resources, land use, as well as taxes and major public expenditures.

Join Engage and former Utah governor Gary Herbert for a discussion on the role of county government, the issues facing Utah County, and what voters should consider in the upcoming county elections.

We practiced Conversations for Understanding at our May Engage Together!

A special thanks to facilitators Megan Stevenson, Jayne Connolly, and Amanda Richael!

Act Local Community Night Helped People Engage!

The 2nd Annual Act Local Community Night brought over 50 organizations together with community members at the Provo Library Ballroom for an evening of connection, conversation, and engagement. Attendees explored ways to get involved, made new connections, and enjoyed live music and refreshments throughout the evening.

What We’re Building

Guided by these values, we work to build a political culture of robust competition between policy ideas and candidates, and responsiveness from institutions and elected officials.

  • We value human dignity, human potential, and human differences

  • We embrace the purpose of democracy, guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution, to protect the rights, include the voice, and facilitate the flourishing of all people

  • We accept the responsibility to make democracy work well to these ends by fostering broad, informed, principled, and civil engagement where we live
